Coaching, in terms of youth sports, is defined in many ways. At its base, a coach transfers his knowledge about the skills of game, from himself to a player.
At a higher level, a coach transfers his knowledge about both the skills of a gameand life lessons, from himself to a player.
At its peak, a coach and a player are each transformed by an experience of shared knowledge and in the process are transported to a realm of greatness, in their sport and in life, far beyond that which either could reach alone.
“Coaching can’t be imposed from one person to another. It’s a two way street. It’s an exchange of life. Both people learn. Both people grow,” said coach Steve Hardison.
