Teaching and Learning

9/4/2012

A great way for a young man to learn more about being a hitter is by teaching a younger brother or sister or neighbor or friend. Use your practical experience and offer helpful suggestions, tips, and advice to a younger or less experienced batter. Teach from a vantage point of working together as a team to improve both your skills, rather than from the standpoint that you are an expert and they are not. Teach your favorite drills then devise drills that are most beneficial for your student.

“A teacher affects eternity. He can never tell where his influence stops,” said author and philosopher Henry Adams. An additional benefit is that the teacher often learns as much as the student. Learn, by teaching. Teach, by learning. Become great and also influence greatness in your student!
