Tamarack TKD: Training Youth, for Life

Many youth dabble in a martial art such as Tae Kwon Do for a brief time then abandon it for their next impulse pursuit or the latest and greatest video game. Martial arts mastery takes considerable time, effort, focus, concentration, patience and persistence. In this immediate gratification society, most youth find the challenge of mastery overwhelming and the pursuit of excellence too daunting.

A special few youth look past the endless repetition required and see beyond the necessary years of strict adherence to requisite performance standards. These discerning youth identify the long-term benefits of martial arts practice. These special youth realize that in practicing a martial art, they accrue knowledge and skills that actually prepare them for anything they do in life. These special youth transfer the skills and mindsets they acquire in the martial arts studio to the classroom and to their home and to the playing field. The same qualities that result in martial arts mastery, result in life mastery.

It is not just any martial arts studio that conveys this universal applicability, however. Too many studios, unfortunately, seem more focused on churning out belt-winners than they are on producing life winners. It is the rare studio that can mold an impressionable youth into an impressive young man. Tamarack TKD in Westerville, Ohio, is one such rare studio. Proprietors Jeff and Shelley Green focus on developing important, lasting qualities in each of their students (ages 5 to 65 plus) and provide an atmosphere of support even as they challenge youth to learn, grow, and become masters.

Visit their studio, or a similar one in your neighborhood, to provide a great learning environment for your son (or daughter).
